Activity Description: Explore the five WAGGGS World Centres using a provided map and learn where each one is located.
Items Needed:
- Printed WAGGGS World Centres Map
- Pencil, crayons, or markers
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 15–20 min):
- Look at the map. (2–3 min)
- Figure out which of the six locations on the map is not a World Centre.
- Find the five World Centres already shown on the map and notice the countries or regions where each centre is located.
- Read the centre names. (3–4 min)
- Say each centre’s name together:
- Our Chalet — Switzerland
- Nuestra Cabaña — México
- Pax Lodge — United Kingdom
- Sangam — India
- Kusafiri — Africa Region
- Say each centre’s name together:
- Trace or outline each location. (4–6 min)
- Lightly trace around each centre’s symbol or label on the map.
- Use different colors to help tell them apart.
- Add simple decorations. (3–4 min)
- Draw a small heart, star, or symbol next to each centre to show it is a special place for Youth around the world.
- Reflect together. (2–3 min)
- Share which World Centre seems the most exciting to visit one day and why.
