Use WAGGGS Global Directory

Activity Description: Learn about a WAGGGS Member Organization from another country and compare it to Girl Scouts.


Items Needed:

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 15–25 min):

  1. Pick an organization to explore. (3–5 min)
    • Use the WAGGGS Global Directory to pick a Member Organization that has a website or Facebook Group you can learn from.
    • (Optional) Close your eyes and point to a place on a world map, or pick a letter and choose a country that starts with that letter. With an adult, look up the WAGGGS Member Organization in or near the country you chose.
  2. Learn about the organization. (5–15 min)
    • Look for simple facts such as the uniform, motto, or traditions.
    • Notice what activities they enjoy and how they support Youth.
  3. Compare and connect. (3–5 min)
    • Write or draw one way the organization is similar to Girl Scouts.
    • Write or draw one way it is different.
  4. (Optional) Keep exploring. (3–5 min)
    • Choose another country and repeat the steps to discover more Member Organizations.
