Natural Resources Scavenger Hunt

Activity Description: Go on a scavenger hunt walk to identify and check off everyday items made from natural resources.


Items Needed:

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 45 min):

  1. Set up the hunt. (5 min)
    • Group everyone into pairs to ensure they use the buddy system before leaving the area.
    • Give a copy of the Natural Resources Scavenger Hunt and a writing utensil to every pair.
  2. Go on the hunt. (30 min)
    • Take the walk and have the group mark off the items they see on their papers as they find them.
    • Encourage them to look for things made of wood, cotton, plants, animals, and rock. Remind them to also look for items that use water, electricity, oil, soil, or batteries.
