Activity Description: Complete a series of collaborative team challenges to unlock hidden puzzle pieces.
Items Needed:
- Printed quote or picture cut into jagged puzzle pieces
- Several envelopes
- Team building game supplies from the chosen challenges
- (Optional) Small locks or puzzle boxes
Before the Meeting Starts:
- Complete the activity preparation. (5 min).
- Print the selected quote or image and cut it into several jagged pieces before the activity begins.
- Place the individual pieces inside a series of separate envelopes.
- Pick out the team challenges. (5–15 min).
- Pick simple team building challenges. Have a number of challenges matching the number of envelopes.
- Prep any materials needed for the challenges chosen.
Instructions: (Estimated Total Time: 40–90 min):
- Complete the activity preparation. (5 min).
- Conceal the envelopes around the area.
- Solve the team building challenges. (25–60 min).
- Instruct them to complete a specific challenge to unlock each hidden envelope.
- Ensure they use teamwork and compromise to complete as many challenges as there are envelopes.
- Allow them to retrieve one envelope containing a puzzle piece after successfully completing each challenge.
- Assemble the quote or picture and discuss the meaning. (5–15 min).
- Direct them to work together to piece the scrambled quote together once all envelopes are unlocked.
- Read the fully assembled quote aloud as a combined group or view the image.
- Lead a brief discussion on the quote or image.
