Activity Description: Write or draw a message about hopes for the future and save it inside a decorated tube to open next World Thinking Day.
Items Needed:
- Paper
- Pencil, crayons, or markers
- Empty cardboard paper towel tube
- Stickers or craft decorations
- Tape or glue
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 10–15 min):
- Write or draw a future message. (3–4 min)
- Create a picture or message showing a hope for the future, such as clean water, kindness, or no one going hungry.
- Decorate the tube. (3–4 min)
- Use markers, stickers, or craft supplies to decorate the outside of the cardboard tube.
- Share the message. (2–3 min)
- Read or show the message to the group before storing it.
- Store the message. (2–3 min)
- Roll or fold the paper and place it inside the tube.
- Keep the tube in a safe place until next year’s World Thinking Day.
- Reflect next year. (Optional, 1–2 min)
- Open the tube next year and share why the message is important.
