- Prepare the paper. (1–2 min)
- Use a square sheet of paper.
- If starting with a rectangle, fold one corner to the opposite edge to form a triangle and cut off the extra strip to make a square.
- Create the center crease. (1 min)
- Place the square like a diamond.
- Fold the left corner to the right corner, crease, and unfold.
- Make the kite fold. (1 min)
- Fold the upper left edge to the center crease.
- Fold the upper right edge to the center crease to form a kite shape.
- Narrow the shape. (1 min)
- Flip the paper over.
- Fold the new outer edges to the center crease again to make a thinner kite.
