G.S. Cookies – Cookie Memory Match

Activity Description: Youth play a matching game using pairs of cookie pictures or cookie‑and‑name cards.


Items Needed:

  • Duplicate pictures of cookies or cookie‑and‑name cards
  • (Optional) Large printouts for a giant floor version

Before the Meeting Starts:

  1. Prepare the cards. (1–2 min)
    • Print two copies of each cookie picture or cookie‑and‑name card.
    • (Optional) Make large versions for a floor‑sized game.

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 8–12 min):

  1. Mix and place the cards. (2–3 min)
    • Shuffle all cards and place them face‑down in a grid.
  2. Take turns flipping cards. (3–5 min)
    • Youth flip two cards at a time to look for a matching pair.
    • If the cards match, they keep the pair.
    • If they do not match, turn them back over.
  3. Continue until all matches are found. (2–3 min)
    • Play until every pair has been collected.
    • Celebrate how many matches the group found together.
