G.S. Cookies – Using Cookie Recipes

Activity Description: Youth choose and make a recipe that uses Girl Scout Cookies as an ingredient.


Items Needed:

  • List of Girl Scout Cookie recipes
  • Girl Scout Cookies (variety depends on chosen recipe)
  • Basic kitchen tools (bowls, spoons, measuring cups)
  • Ingredients required for the chosen recipe
  • (Optional) Exploremores cookies for recipe swaps
  • (Optional) Aprons or table coverings

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 20–30 min):

  1. Choose a recipe. (3–5 min)
    • Look through the recipe list and pick one to try.
    • Youth may choose a recipe that uses their favorite cookie or try a new one.
  2. Gather ingredients and tools. (3–5 min)
    • Collect the cookies and other ingredients needed for the chosen recipe.
    • Set out bowls, spoons, and measuring tools.
  3. Prepare the cookies. (3–5 min)
    • Break, crush, or chop the cookies as the recipe requires.
    • (Optional) Try swapping in Exploremores or another cookie variety.
  4. Follow the recipe steps. (8–12 min)
    • Use the original recipe instructions to mix, layer, blend, or shape the treat.
    • Youth help with safe, simple tasks such as stirring or adding ingredients.
  5. Taste and compare. (3–5 min)
    • Try the finished treat.
    • Youth share what they notice about flavor and texture.
    • (Optional) Compare results when different cookie varieties are used.

Recipe List

New Exploremores could be used in place of Oreo or other Sandwich style cookies in these recipes. Try one out and see if it works with the Rocky Road flavor!
