History

“Wigalow” is a traditional participation chant that serves as a core social-bonding activity in American scouting. Based on a “call and answer” structure, it functions primarily as an individual recognition tool. It is designed to build confidence by giving each participant a moment of creative leadership. By requiring the entire group to mirror the improvised movements of one youth, “Wigalow” reinforces collective supportive gestures.
