Activity Description: Youth play a trivia game to learn cookie facts.
Items Needed:
- Prepared trivia question cards (See list below activity instructions)
- (Optional) Cookie packages
- (Optional) Girl Scout order cards
- (Optional) Computers, smartphones, or tablets
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 20-40 min):
- Form small teams. (2-5 min)
- Youth divide into groups to play together.
- Draw trivia cards. (<1 min)
- Each team picks a card with a cookie question.
- Answer questions. (5-10 min)
- Teams use order cards, cookie packages, or devices with an adult to find answers. Questions may include cookie types, prices, rewards, donations, or how Digital Cookie works.
- Share answers. (5-10 min)
- Each team explains their question and the answer they found.
- Repeat a new round of questions (10-20 min)
- Each team draws a new card, searches for the answer, and then explains their question and the answer they found.

- How many kinds of Girl Scout Cookies are sold this year?
Answer: Check the order card — usually 8–12 varieties depending on the baker. - What is the newest cookie flavor?
Answer: Look at the Family Guide or order card for the newest cookie listed. - How much does a box of cookies cost?
Answer: The price is printed on the order card; most councils set $5–$7 per box. - Which baker makes the cookies in your council?
Answer: The Family Guide or council website will say ABC Bakers or Little Brownie Bakers. - What cookie has peanut butter inside?
Answer: Peanut Butter Patties and Peanut Butter Sandwiches (ABC) or Tagalongs and Do-si-dos (LBB). - Which cookie is gluten‑free?
Answer: Toffee‑tastic (LBB) or Caramel Chocolate Chip (ABC). - What cookie is covered in chocolate?
Answer: Thin Mints (both bakers) and Peanut Butter Patties (ABC) or Tagalongs (LBB) are fully coated in chocolate. - What cookie has coconut on it?

Answer: Rewards are listed in the Family Guide — examples include patches, plush toys, or experiences. - How can customers donate cookies to others?
Answer: Check the Family Guide or Order Card for what the local council calls the program (Cookie Share, Gift of Caring, Troops for Troops, etc.) - What is Digital Cookie or Smart Cookies?
Answer: The online system for selling cookies with an adult’s help. - How do youth sell cookies online?
Answer: By logging into Digital Cookie or Smart Cookies with an adult and sharing their link. - How many boxes of cookies are in one case?
Answer: 12 boxes per case. - Which cookie is only sold in certain areas?
Answer: Lemonades (ABC) and Lemon Ups (LBB) are different. Toffee‑tastic (LBB) or Caramel Chocolate Chip (ABC) are different. Thin Mints, Trefoils, Adventurfuls and Exploremores have the same name but slightly different recipes. Caramel deLites (ABC) or Samoas (LBB) are similar cookies with different names. Peanut Butter Patties and Peanut Butter Sandwiches (ABC) or Tagalongs and Do-si-dos (LBB) are similar cookies with different names. - What cookie has a mint flavor?
Answer: Thin Mints. - How long does the cookie season last?
Answer: Check the Family Guide for dates. About 6–8 weeks, depending on the council calendar. - When does cookie season start in your council?

Answer: Allergens (like wheat, soy, milk, peanuts) are printed on the order card and packages. - Bonus: In what year did Girl Scout Cookies first start being sold?
Answer: 1917, when a troop in Muskogee, Oklahoma baked cookies to fund activities. Sometimes found on the council website under “Cookie History”.
