History

Sung to the folk melody of “Down By the Station,” the lyrics are a mock-heroic parody the daily fight to wake up and get moving. It likely originated in the early 20th-century physical education movement, where “limbering up” was the standard term for exercise. The song is designed to release morning tension and get scouts up and active.
