WTD – Show the Story

Activity Description: Create a poster, mural, or collage showing the four parts of the World Thinking Day story.


Items Needed:

  • Paper, poster board, or large craft paper
  • Markers, crayons, or colored pencils
  • Glue and scissors
  • Magazines, printed images, or construction paper
  • (Optional) Stickers or decorative items

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 20–30 min):

  1. Review the four parts of the World Thinking Day story. (3–4 min)
    • Part 1: A Special Day created in 1926.
    • Part 2: A Birthday Gift added in 1932.
    • Part 3: World Thinking Day renamed in 1999.
    • Part 4: Coming Together with 2026 year’s theme, Our Friendship.
  2. Plan the artwork. (3–4 min)
    • Divide the poster or collage into four sections.
    • Decide what images or drawings will show each part of the story.
  3. Create the first three parts. (8–10 min)
    • Draw or glue pictures that show the creation of Thinking Day, the idea of giving gifts, and the name change to World Thinking Day.
  4. Add the theme section. (4–5 min)
    • Create a fourth section showing 2026 year’s theme, Our Friendship.
  5. Finish and share. (2–3 min)
    • Add color and decorations.
    • Share the artwork and explain what each section represents.
