Activity Description: Youth create a simple season wheel to show how the Earth’s seasons change throughout the year.
Items Needed:
- Paper plates
- Markers or crayons
- (Optional) Magazines and glue for collage
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 15 min):
- Talk about the seasons. (3 min)
- Remind them about what the seasons mean: “Think about the little clues that tell us a season is changing. Things like leaves, weather, or what we see outside. Those clues help us notice how the Earth changes throughout the year.”
- Make the season wheel. (10 min)
- Youth divide the plate or circle into four sections labeled Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.
- Youth draw or glue pictures that show nature clues for each season.
- Youth add the months that match each season.
- (Optional) Share their work. (2 min)
- Youth share their favorite season and one clue they added to their wheel.
