Make a Tiny URL

Activity Description: Youth create a short, easy‑to‑share TinyURL link for their website.


Items Needed:

  • Computer, laptop, or tablet
  • Internet access
  • Website link
  • (Optional) Custom word or phrase for the TinyURL

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 5–10 min):

  1. Copy the long link. (1–2 min)
    • Youth open their website with an adult’s help. Copy the full website address from the browser bar.
  2. Go to the TinyURL website. (1–2 min)
    • Youth open a new tab and go to TinyURL.com.
  3. Paste the link. (1–2 min)
    • Youth paste the long link into the box that asks for a URL.
  4. Create the TinyURL. (1–2 min)
    • Youth click the button to shorten the link and wait for the new TinyURL to appear.
  5. Copy and save the TinyURL. (1–2 min)
    • Youth copy the new short link and save it to use on flyers, messages, or other materials.
