Make a QR Code

Activity Description: Youth create a simple QR code that links to their website.


Items Needed:

  • Computer, laptop, or tablet
  • Internet access
  • Website link
  • (Optional) QR code generator website
  • (Optional) Printer

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 5–10 min):

  1. Open a QR code tool. (1–2 min)
    • Youth visit a free QR code generator website or open a browser like Chrome or Edge.
  2. Choose the content type. (1–2 min)
    • Youth select “URL” or the option for linking to a website.
  3. Enter the cookie link. (1–2 min)
    • Youth paste their website link into the box.
    • The QR code appears automatically.
  4. (Optional) Customize the QR code. (1–2 min)
    • Some programs will allow the youth to change the color or style while keeping the code easy to scan.
  5. Download the QR code. (1–2 min)
    • Youth save the QR code image to their device as a PNG or JPG.
  6. Print or share the QR code. (1–2 min)
    • Youth print the QR code or add it to a flyer, message, or other materials.
