Games – What If

Activity Description: Youth explore creative scenarios by answering “what if” questions.


Items Needed:

  • None (just the group and their creativity!)
  • (Optional) A list of “If” questions, like this Print Out
  • (Optional) A timer for added challenge

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 8–12 min):

  1. Sit together as a group. (1 min)
    • Youth sit in a circle or gather closely so everyone can hear.
  2. Ask the first “If…” question. (2–3 min)
    • One youth starts by asking an “If…” question to the person next to them.
  3. Answer and continue the pattern. (3–4 min)
    • The next youth answers the question, then asks a new “If…” question to the person after them.
    • Continue around the circle until everyone has had a turn.
  4. Add variety. (2–4 min)
    • (Optional) Use a timer for quick answers.
    • (Optional) Choose a theme such as travel, fantasy, or animals.
