Friendly Drawings

Activity Description: Youth learn what it means to be friendly and helpful to all, then draw a picture showing how they can practice friendliness in daily life.


Items Needed:

  • Paper, one sheet for each youth
  • Crayons, markers, or colored pencils, enough to share
  • (Optional) Pencils for sketching outlines

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 15–20 min):

  1. Explain what it means to be friendly. (3–4 min)
    • Talk about showing kindness, helping others, and respecting everyone. Give simple examples of friendly actions at home, in groups, or in the community.
  2. Draw a picture of friendliness. (6–8 min)
    • Youth create a drawing that shows how they can be friendly. Encourage them to think of real situations where they can help or show kindness.
  3. Share drawings with the group. (3–4 min)
    • Youth show their pictures and explain what friendly action they chose.
