Activity Description: Youth sing the Wigalow song together to learn each other’s names in a fun way.
Items Needed:
- Open space for the group to stand in a circle
- Leader needs to know the Wigalow Song
- (Optional) Name tags for Youth and adult partners
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 10–15 min):
- Gather youth and adult partners. (2–3 min)
- Clear an area so everyone can stand in a circle. Make sure everyone is included in the circle.
- Explain the Wigalow Song. (2–3 min)
- Tell youth the song will help everyone learn names. Walk them through a verse.
- Begin singing the Wigalo song. (6–8 min)
- Start with one youth and adult partner. Continue until everyone has been called and introduced.
