Info Needed: Youth try to draw based by the feeling of the original drawing on their back, without words.
Items Needed:
- Paper
- Tape
- Pens or markers
- A wall or flat surface for the final drawing
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 15–25 min):
- Form groups of 3–6 Youth and have them sit in a line. (1 min)
- Each youth faces the back of the youth in front of them.
- Tape paper to each youth’s back and to the wall for the final youth. (1 min)
- Make sure each paper is secure and flat.
- Give each youth a pen or marker. (1 min)
- Hand out extra supplies if needed.
- Draw down the line. (10–15 min)
- The first youth draws a simple design without speaking using basic shapes or lines on the paper taped to the back in front of them. Each youth feels the drawing on their back and recreates it in front of them without speaking after the youth behind them is done.
- (Alternate: Step by Step) The first youth draws a single line and the second repeats what they feel until the final youth draws on the wall. Return to the first youth for the next line or simple shape. Repeat until the drawing is finished.
- Take down the drawings and compare. (2 min)
- Compare the first drawing with each drawing down the line, ending with the final wall drawing. Look at how the drawing changed along the line.
