Activity Description: One youth describes a simple drawing they make while their partner, sitting back-to-back, tries to recreate it without looking.


Items Needed:

  • Paper
  • Pencils or pens
  • (Optional) Simple shape or design examples for inspiration

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 10–15 min):

  1. Pair up youth. (1–2 min)
    • Have each pair sit back-to-back.
  2. Draw a simple design. (5–6 min)
    • One youth in each pair draws on paper on the ground in front of them.
    • The drawing youth describes their design to their partner.
    • The partner recreates the drawing based on the description.
  3. Youth compare both drawings. (2–5 min)
    • Each pair turns around to see how close they came to drawing the same drawing.
    • (Optional) Discuss how better communication might have improved the drawing.
