G.S. Cookies – Team Building Game

Activity Description: Youth play a team building game and connect what they learn to communication in their cookie business.


Items Needed:

  • Materials for a chosen team building game
  • Space to play the game
  • (Optional) Paper and pencils for notes

Before the Meeting Starts:

  1. Choose a team building game. (5 min)
    • GSUSA Recommends playing Back to Back Drawing in the Booklet and VTK.
    • Other examples include relay races, building a tower with blocks, or passing an object around a circle. See a list of team building games.

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 15–25 min):

  1. Play the team building game. (10–15 min)
    • Youth work together to complete the challenge. Encourage teamwork and problem solving.
  2. Compare results and reflect. (2–5 min)
    • Youth discuss what worked well and what was difficult.
    • Talk about how communication affected their success.
  3. Connect to cookie business teamwork. (3–5 min)
    • Ask how communication can help with selling cookies.
    • Discuss times they may need to adjust their approach as a team.
