Activity Description: Youth learn from older scouts about cookie sales responsibilities and how to take charge of their cookie business.
Items Needed:
- An older scout or alum with cookie sales experience
- Paper and pencils for notes
- (Optional) Online resources or council forums with cookie sales ideas
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 20–30 min):
- Invite an older scout or alum to share experiences. (5–7 min)
- Ask about how cookie sales changed as they grew older.
- Ask if they ever made mistakes and what they learned.
- Listen to advice about teamwork and responsibilities. (5–7 min)
- Discuss the best ways to work together.
- Identify different roles in a cookie business.
- Brainstorm troop responsibilities. (5–7 min)
- Youth consider what their roles should be.
- Write down ideas for how each role helps the troop.
- Decide how to take charge of the cookie business. (5–7 min)
- Youth share what they will do to support the troop.
- Record commitments to guide future cookie sales.
