Activity Description: Youth create a vision board to show troop goals for using cookie money.
Items Needed:
- Poster board or large paper
- Magazines, printed images, or drawings
- Scissors
- Glue or tape
- Markers or colored pencils
- Order cards
- (Optional) Computers, smartphones, or tablets with Digital Cookie/Smart Cookies
- (Optional) Stickers or decorative items
Before the Meeting Starts:
- Gather materials for the vision board. (5 min)
- Use magazines, drawings, or printed images.
- (Optional) Use digital tools like slide deck software with an adult’s help.
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 30–40 min):
- Share ideas as a group (4–6 min)
- Ask youth how they would like to use their cookie money.
- Write down all ideas so everyone can see them.
- Provide some choices as needed.
- Vote on favorite goals (3–5 min)
- Youth vote by raising hands, placing stickers, or using tokens. Or read each idea aloud and ask youth to clap for the ones they like best. Count claps to see which ideas are most popular.
- Count votes and announce the top choice.

- Create vision board pieces. (10–12 min)
- Cut out or draw pictures and words that show troop goals.
- Write facts or descriptions from order cards or online resources.
- (Optional) Use digital tools like slide deck software with an adult’s help.
- Arrange and attach items to the board. (5–7 min)
- Glue, tape, or digitally place items to make a clear collage.
- Display all pieces into one giant vision board. (5–7 min)
- Make sure troop goals are shown together.
- (Optional) Connect them together permanently and add decorations or stickers.
- (Optional) Display the vision board(s). (5–7 min)
- Show it/them at a cookie booth or share online with an adult’s help.
