Activity Description: Youth play a team game by forming letters with their hands or bodies to spell words for others to guess.
Items Needed:
- None (just the group and their creativity!)
- (Optional) Slips of paper with words on them
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 10–20 min):
- Form small groups. (1 min)
- Divide youth into teams of 3–6 members with at least three teams.
- Each team must choose a word with the same number of letters as members.
- (Optional) Give each team a slip of paper with a word.
- Plan the word. (2–3 min)
- Teams decide how to form each letter with their hands or bodies.
- (Optional) They prepare to perform without talking.
- Perform the word. (5–6 min)
- Each team performs the word without talking and lets the other teams guess.
- If a team performs a word and another team guesses it correctly, the performing team and the guessing team earns 1 point.
- Tally points at the end of the round after all teams have had a chance to perform once.
- (Optional) Continue rounds. (4–5 min)
- Each team selects a new word, prepares, and performs for another round of guessing.
