Voting – Checklist Voting

Activity Description: Youth vote by marking several options they like and circling their top choice to show preference.


Items Needed:

  • List of prepared options for each youth
  • Pens or pencils
  • (Optional) Extra paper for tie‑breaker voting

Before the Meeting Starts:

  1. Prepare voting sheets. (3–4 min)
    • Ensure each youth will have a list of options on paper. Make sure there is space to mark and circle choices.

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 15–20 min):

  1. Mark and circle choices. (5–7 min)
    • Youth mark a set number of options they like.
    • They circle one option as their top choice.
  2. Collect the votes. (2–3 min)
    • Gather all voting sheets or slips of paper.
  3. Count and review results. (4–6 min)
    • Tally the marked options to see overall interest. Note the circled top choices to find clear favorites.
    • If two or more options tie, hold a second round of voting.
    • Announce the winning option(s). Record the decisions so the group can follow them later.
