G.S. Cookies – Cookie Flashcards

Activity Description: Youth make flash cards to learn cookie names, descriptions, and prices.


Items Needed:

  • Girl Scout Cookie papers (see links below activity instructions) for each scout
  • 8–10 Index cards for each scout
  • Scissors
  • Pen, pencil, or marker
  • Tape or glue
  • Timer
  • (Optional) Girl Scout Cookie packages
  • (Optional) Access to Digital Cookie/Smart Cookies

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 20-40 min):

  1. Create flash cards. (5-15 min)
    • Youth cut out cookie pictures and descriptions from the cookie line up papers.
    • Tape or glue each picture and name on one side and the description to the other side of an index card.
    • Write the cookie price on the picture/name side.
    • (Optional) Make cards from scratch by writing the cookie name, description, and price. (Adds 5–10 min)
  2. Practice with a partner. (10-15 min)
    • One youth shows the description side and asks their partner to guess the cookie name. Keep the name hidden while the partner guesses.
    • Take turns going through the cards.
  3. Try a challenge round. (5 min)
    • Set a timer for 1 minute and see how many they can guess correctly in that time. Switch partner and let them guess for 1 minute.
