G.S. Cookies – Make Door Hangers

Activity Description: Youths create door hangers for door-to-door sales.


Items Needed:

  • Door Hanger Template (see list below activity instructions)
  • Pens, Pencils, or Markers
  • Scissors
  • (Optional) Printed QR Codes (in the correct size) for the Door Hanger Template
  • (Optional) Glue sticks
  • (Optional) Copier

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 5–15 min):

  1. Hand out printed hangers. (2–3 min)
    • Give each Youth several copies of the door hanger page. Explain these are to use when you receive no answer when knocking on a door to sell cookies. They can use the information to order cookies for a later delivery.
  2. Add the troop information. (4–6 min)
    • During the meeting, youths fill in the required information on the door hanger template. Make sure to include information about the troop goal.
    • (Optional) Cut and paste the QR codes as needed.
    • (Optional) They could fill a single page out and then make copies of the first sheet if a copier is available.
  3. Cut door hangers. (4–6 min)
    • Cut out the door hangers on the sheet to be ready for use.
  4. Send door hangers home. (2–3 min)
    • Remind the youth to follow the safety rules when selling door-to-door with their families.
