Activity Description: Youths practice cookie sales pitches through role-play and optionally create signs for a real cookie booth.
Items Needed:
- Plain paper and/or construction paper
- Drawing and coloring supplies
- Sample Cookie Pitch Scripts
- (Optional) Extra craft supplies for booth decorations
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 20–30 min):
- Talk about sales pitches. (3–4 min)
- Explain that customers like to hear troop goals. Show a Sample Cookie Pitch Scripts as an example.
- Pretend cookie booth role play. (8–10 min)
- Youth set up a pretend booth and take turns being the cookie seller and the customer. Practice sharing troop goals while selling.
- Try different scenarios. (4–5 min)
- See Simple Cookie Booth Scenarios listed below. Discuss how conversations might be similar or different.
- (Optional) Create booth decorations. (6–8 min)
- Youth design signs and decorations for the real booth. Encourage them to include troop goals and fun ideas to attract customers.

“Hi! I’m [insert name] with Troop [insert number]. We’re selling Girl Scout Cookies! They are yummy and fun to share. A box is [insert price]. My troop will use the money to go on adventures. Would you like to buy some?”
“Hello! I’m [insert name] with Troop [insert number]. Girl Scout Cookies come in lots of flavors. My favorite is [insert flavor]. Our troop is saving money to help others and do fun projects. Buying cookies helps us reach our goal! A box is [insert price]. Would you like to buy some?”
Simple Cookie Booth Scenarios
- A customer walks up to the booth and asks, “What’s your favorite cookie?”
- A family with young kids stops by the booth and looks at the cookie display.
- A neighbor comes to the booth and says, “I only have a few dollars.”
- A customer asks, “What does your troop do with the cookie money?”
- Someone says, “I already bought cookies this year.”
- A person is in a hurry and says, “I don’t have much time.”
- A customer asks, “Do you have gluten-free cookies?”
- A friend of the troop visits the booth and wants to buy cookies to support them.
- A customer says, “I can’t decide which flavor to buy.”
- A person asks, “How many packages do you need to reach your goal?”
