Clay Art – Cookies About Me

Activity Description: Youths mold clay into cookie shapes and imprint designs that represent something about themselves.


Items Needed:

  • Modeling clay
  • Pencils or clay tools

Before the Meeting Starts:

  1. Set up the activity area. (3–4 min)
    • Place clay and tools in a designated space.
    • (Optional) Have youth set out the materials themselves.

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 10–25 min):

  1. Mold clay into cookie shapes. (5–8 min)
    • Youth shape the clay to look like cookies.
    • Encourage them to be creative with size and style.
  2. Imprint personal designs. (5–9 min)
    • Youth use pencils or tools to add a design that shows something about themselves.
    • Examples: favorite animal, sport, holiday, or something they like about themselves.
  3. (Optional) Share designs with the group. (5–8 min)
    • Explain that sharing is optional, and youth can choose to keep their design private.
    • Youth may show their clay cookie and explain their design.
