G.S. Cookies – Simple Video

Activity Description: Youths practice and record a video sales pitch about Girl Scout Cookies.


Items Needed:

  • Video recording device
  • Cookie packages or images of cookies and/or cookie packages
  • Other video props
  • Adult help with recording and sharing

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 20–30 min):

  1. Plan the video together. (5–7 min)
    • Tell Youth they will practice making a cookie sales pitch. Remind them to include cookie names, prices, and troop goals.
    • Decide who will speak, hold props, or show cookies. Make sure each Youth has a role in the video.
  2. Record the video pitch. (8–10 min)
    • Youth practice their pitch and record it. Allow multiple takes if needed until they feel confident.
  3. Share and reflect. (4–6 min)
    • Watch the video together and celebrate their effort.
    • Share videos or outtakes with troop families.
    • (Optional) Encourage Youth to make their own cookie pitch video with adult help to share online.

Sample Scripts

“Hi! I’m [insert name] with Troop [insert number]. We’re selling Girl Scout Cookies! They are yummy and fun to share. A box is [insert price]. My troop will use the money to go on adventures. Would you like to buy some?”

“Hello! I’m [insert name] with Troop [insert number]. Girl Scout Cookies come in lots of flavors. My favorite is [insert flavor]. Our troop is saving money to help others and do fun projects. Buying cookies helps us reach our goal! A box is [insert price]. Would you like to buy some?”
