G.S. Cookies – Sharing Goal Poster

Activity Description: Youths create posters for a cookie booth that show the troop goal, troop number, and cookie prices.


Items Needed:

  • Large poster paper or cardstock for each small group
  • Paper with Troop number and cookie price information for each small group
  • Markers, crayons, or colored pencils
  • (Optional) Stickers or decorations
  • (Optional) Pictures of cookies or troop activities

Before the Meeting Starts:

  1. Prepare poster materials. (3–5 min)
    • Set out paper, markers, and decorations for each planned small group.
    • Write down the troop number and cookie price information they will need to include on the posters. Provide one copy for each planned small group.

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 20–30 min):

  1. Break into small groups. (3–5 min)
    • Give each group the supplies needed to make their own poster.
  2. Write troop information. (4–6 min)
    • Youth add the troop number to the poster.
    • Write the price of cookies clearly.
  3. Add troop goal. (5–7 min)
    • Youth write or draw what the troop is working toward with cookie money.
    • Younger youth can use simple drawings, while older youth can add more details.
  4. Decorate posters. (5–7 min)
    • Youth use stickers, colors, or pictures to make posters eye-catching. Encourage creativity while keeping the message clear.
  5. Share and display. (3–5 min)
    • Youth show their posters to the troop. Use posters at cookie booths to explain troop goals to customers.
