Activity Description: Youths cut, fold, and set up a mini booth to use with finger puppets.
Items Needed:
- Printed Finger Puppet Booth Stand Template (cardstock recommended, standard paper okay)
- Scissors
- (Optional) Pre-made finger puppets
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 10–15 min):
- Cut along the dashed lines (2–5 min)
- Do not cut the dotted fold lines.
- Cut out the booth shape.
- Cut the window in the booth without cutting the sides of the booth.
- Cut the square that will become the stand.
- Fold the stand (5–10 min)
- Follow the step by step instructions for the Origami – Simple Card Stand. Fold along the dotted lines to shape the stand.
- Set up the booth (2–3 min)
- Place the booth into the folded stand. Make sure it stands securely and faces forward.
- (Optional) Use with finger puppets (2–4 min)
- Youth use their finger puppets to play.

- Favorite Cookie Question
- A customer asks: “What’s your favorite cookie?”
- Youth practice answering politely and recommending a cookie.
- Troop Goal Question
- A customer asks: “What does your troop do with the cookie money?”
- Youth practice sharing a short goal or troop plan.
- Price Question
- A customer asks: “How much does a box cost?”
- Youth practice stating the price clearly.
- Indecisive Customer
- A customer says: “I can’t decide which flavor to buy.”
- Youth practice suggesting options or sharing popular choices.
- Already Bought Cookies
- A customer says: “I already bought cookies this year.”
- Youth practice thanking them and encouraging support in other ways.
- Limited Money
- A customer says: “I only have a few dollars.”
- Youth practice offering what fits their budget or thanking them for stopping by.
- Gluten Question
- A customer asks: “Do you have gluten‑free cookies?”
- Youth answer appropriately if they have the gluten-free flavor available or not.
- Allergen Question
- A customer asks: “I’m allergic to peanut.”
- Youth answer appropriately if they have the gluten-free flavor available or not.
- No Sugar Customer
- A customer says: “I can’t have sugar at all.”
- Youth thank them and ask if they would like to donate a box to whatever charity the troop is supporting this year (fire/police station, EMS, veterans, nursing home, or troops serving overseas).
- Quick Customer
- A customer says: “I don’t have much time.”
- Youth practice making a fast, polite sale.
- No Cash Customer
- A customer says: “I don’t have cash on me.”
- Youth practice stating clearly if they can take credit cards.
