Activity Description: Youths use finger puppets and a mini cookie booth to practice selling Girl Scout Cookies.
Items Needed:
- Precut enough Finger Puppets for each youth to have 1 or 2 characters.
- G.S. Themed Finger Puppets by The Badge Archive
- VTK Finger Puppet Cutouts by GSUSA
- Precut and assemble a Finger Puppet Booth Stand for each youth pair or small group to have one
- Glue or tape
- (Optional) Print and assemble mini-cookie boxes
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 15–50 min):
- Select a finger puppet. (5 min)
- Youth pick 1 or 2 characters from the precut Finger Puppets and use glue or tape to fit them to their finger size.
- (Optional) Youth cut out and decorate their own finger puppets. Use markers, yarn, and other supplies to add fun details. (Add 8–15 min)
- Divide into pairs. (3 min)
- Provide each pair with a Finger Puppet Booth Stand for them to use for their role play.
- (Optional) Youth create their own Finger Puppet Booth Stand. (Add 15–20 min)
- Practice cookie pitches in pairs. (8–15 min)
- Youth pair up and use their puppets to act out a cookie sale.
- One puppet makes a pitch, and the other asks questions like “How much does it cost?” or “What’s your favorite cookie?”
- Youth take turns being the seller and the customer.
- (Optional) Share with the group. (Optional) (15–25 min)
- Pairs may perform a short interaction for everyone to enjoy.
