G.S. Cookies – Basic Cookie Sale

Activity Description: Youths explore Girl Scout Cookie types and prices, then practice buying cookies using play money.


Items Needed:

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 10–20 min):

  1. Talk about favorite cookies (2–3 min)
    • Ask Youth to share their favorite cookie flavors.
    • Let them know it’s okay if they don’t know Girl Scout Cookie names yet.
  2. Introduce Girl Scout Cookies (4–6 min)
    • Show cookie packages, pictures, or order cards.
    • Say each cookie name in a fun way and have Youth repeat it.
    • Talk about what makes each cookie different or the same.
  3. Practice buying cookies (4–6 min)
    • Ask which cookie each Youth would buy and how much it costs.
    • Use play money to “buy” one package.
    • Then count how much is needed to buy two or three packages.
