Youth Activity Archive

Activity Description: Youths pass a message down the line to see how it changes by the end.

Items Needed:

• None (just the group and their creativity!)

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 10–15 min):

1. Whisper the phrase (5–7 min)
   • Sit in a circle or a line. Make sure each person can easily lean over to the Youth next to them to whisper in their ear.
   • Choose one Youth to start the round.
   • The first Youth thinks of a short phrase or secret and whispers it once to the next person.
   • Each Youth whispers what they heard to the next person, only one time.
   • The last Youth says out loud what they heard.
   • The first Youth shares what the original phrase was.
2. Start a new round (5–7 min)
   • Choose a new Youth to start each round. Continue until everyone has had a turn or as time allows.
   • Celebrate the funniest or most surprising changes.
