Games – Double That

Also known as Supermarket.

Activity Description: Youths list items, each adding to and doubling the previous one in a memory game.

Items Needed:

  • None (just the group and their creativity!)
  • (Optional) Paper and pen for a helper to track the list

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 10–15 min):

  1. Start the memory chain (8–10 min)
    • Make sure everyone can see and hear each other.
    • Youth #1 says their name and one item for the list.
    • Youth #2 repeats the first item and adds their own.
      • Examples would be things like “Ditsy Donna” or “Sly Susan”.
    • Continue around the circle, each Youth repeating all previous items and adding one new item.
    • (Optional) Use a theme like “supermarket” or “camp packing list”
  2. Celebrate the full list (2–3 min)
    • After the last Youth adds their item, repeat the full list together.
    • (Optional) Try a second round with a new theme or challenge.
