Also known as Supermarket.
Activity Description: Youths list items, each adding to and doubling the previous one in a memory game.
Items Needed:
- None (just the group and their creativity!)
- (Optional) Paper and pen for a helper to track the list
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 10–15 min):
- Start the memory chain (8–10 min)
- Make sure everyone can see and hear each other.
- Youth #1 says their name and one item for the list.
- Youth #2 repeats the first item and adds their own.
- Examples would be things like “Ditsy Donna” or “Sly Susan”.
- Continue around the circle, each Youth repeating all previous items and adding one new item.
- (Optional) Use a theme like “supermarket” or “camp packing list”
- Celebrate the full list (2–3 min)
- After the last Youth adds their item, repeat the full list together.
- (Optional) Try a second round with a new theme or challenge.
