Activity Description: Youths write descriptive words about themselves on badges and pair up to share and learn about each other.


Items Needed:

Before the Activity:

  • Prepare the Small or Medium Cards (3–4 min)
    • Give each Youth a Small or Medium Card and a marker or pen.
    • Youth write one or two adjectives that describe themselves.

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 15–20 min):

  1. Wear and explore (3–4 min)
    • Youth wear their badges and walk around to read others’ words.
    • Encourage them to look for someone with similar or opposite traits.
  2. Pair up and talk (5–7 min)
    • Youth pair up with someone whose badge caught their attention.
    • Each pair talks about why they chose their adjectives and what they learned.

Optional Reflection:

  1. Reflect as a group (4–5 min)
    • Invite Youth to share something interesting they learned about their partner.
    • Discuss how differences and similarities help build strong teams.
